RCPix:  Concrete Pipe & Precast Box Culvert Photo Contest & Exhibit

The ACPA is inviting all industry stakeholder (ACPA members, engineers, contractors, transportation agencies, etc.) to submit photos to its first RCPix Photo Contest & Exhibit for the 2024 Pipe School!

Participants can submit up to ten individual photos featuring concrete pipe or precast box culverts for the contest. Please see the photo guidelines and judging criteria below.

All photos must be received by December 15th to be eligible.  The top images will be displayed during the 2024 Pipe School and the winners announced during the awards luncheon.

**You are not required to be at Pipe School to enter or win.**

PHOTO GUIDELINES

Photos should feature concrete pipe or precast concrete box culverts, or their components at any stage in their life, from cradle to installed. The pipe or box culvert may be positioned prominently, in the foreground, or background of the image. We are requesting photos based on the following categories, as best suits your image(s):

  1. Manufacturing / In the Plant – Products, processes, equipment, people or life in the plant.
  2. Construction / Installation – Means, methods, product during installation, or featuring customers in action.
  3. Installed and In Service – Featuring finished construction and in service use of product.
  4. Unconventional Uses – Photos featuring products in use other than for typical gravity drainage.
  5. Advocacy of the Product – Photos during plant tours, at job sites, or other settings that feature the product in an advocacy, promotional, or educational context.
  6. Creative – Photos featuring product or its components in a fun or artistic way.
  7. Freelance – If your photo doesn’t conform to any of the other categories, or if you wish to stray from the rules, then this is your category.

CONTEST RULES

  1. Safe – Images may not include any safety violations or dangerous situations.
  2. Concrete Pipe or Box Culverts – Photos must include concrete pipe and/or box culverts to be considered.
  3. Clear – Images must be aesthetically pleasing and should not be blurry.
  4. Recent – Photos must have been taken within the last 5 years to be considered.
  5. Photo Altercation – Photos must be original and no products or other entities can be photoshopped onto the image.
    NOTE:  Minor editing of the photo can be done such as help with the images coloring, a touch up to the product, or the removal of a logo.
  6. Company Logo – Photos in which company or agency logos that are visible on the product, manufacturing or construction equipment, or persons’ clothing are permissible.  Per the “Photo Altercation” rule, you may remove the logo at your discretion.

About Pipe School

Pipe School is the American Concrete Pipe Association (ACPA)’s annual event where members, DOTs, consulting engineers, subject matter experts, and other industry personnel get together to discuss, learn, and engage with one another.  The school advances the industry by teaching classes on production, advanced production, and quality, while engaging with industry stakeholders to ensure that they are provided with information vital to their decision making process.
