SUMMARY:Differentiate Yourself Through Personal Branding
DESCRIPTION:Location:  Frisco 3\, 4\, & 5 \nSpeaker:  Michael Kremer – American Concrete Pipe Association \nPresentation Description \nAll too often we focus so much on the product or service that we are representing and forget to focus on ourselves. We know our product is the right one for the situation and pour countless hours scouring for advantages\, creating presentations\, and trying find ways to provide our customers the best solution. But is your product the only thing you’re selling? Beyond the brand of your product\, what does your personal brand say about you? \nProducts aren’t the only thing that need to be differentiated in the market: so do sales and marketing experts. \nWhen you are trying to sell a product or influence a stakeholder\, you aren’t just selling them a product\, you’re selling them a package that you are a part of. How do you differentiate yourself to add value to that package? Is it through the information you provide? How you provide it? Do you focus on relationship building or problem solving? \nDifferentiating yourself through your personal brand can be as integral to the success of the project as the product itself. \nAttendees of this presentation will walk away with the following: \n\nUnderstanding of the importance of differentiating yourself through your personal brand\nWay of determining how to find and define their personal brand\nTool and techniques to refine and leverage their brand\n\nSpeaker Bio\nMichael Kremer is the Vice President of Marketing at the ACPA and has spent almost 20 years in marketing. Throughout his almost 20 year career\, Michael has worked for a variety of different organizations including Caterpillar\, Intertek\, AgriSyng (an ag-tech start-up)\, and even ran his own business\, Eighty35 Marketing. In addition to his current role at the ACPA\, Michael teaches an intro to marketing class as his local community college. Throughout his marketing career Michael has found success by differentiating both himself and the product/brand that he is representing.

SUMMARY:Data Visualization Best Practices
DESCRIPTION:Location:  Frisco 3\, 4\, & 5 \nSpeaker:  Ashley Kizzire – Advancing Organizational Excellence (aoe) \nPresentation Description \nWhen used properly\, charts and graphs are a very effective way to communicate data. However\, simple missteps in design can muddle your data\, weaken your message and confuse your audience. Avoid common mistakes by following best practices to ensure that your message is heard – loud and clear! \nYou’ve been tasked with making a presentation on some important business figures – financial updates\, results of marketing efforts or other key data – and rather than create text-heavy slides with lists of numbers\, you know that putting the data into a graphical format will be more interesting and visually appealing to your audience. When used properly\, charts and graphs are a very effective way to communicate data. However\, simple missteps in design can muddle your data\, weaken your message and confuse your audience. Avoid common mistakes by following these best practices to ensure that your message is heard loud – and clear! \nLearning objectives for this presentation include: \n\nUnderstand the importance of background information and knowing who your audience is before developing your presentation. Having that information can drastically change the direction your presentation will take.\nUnderstand the importance of choosing the right visuals for your presentation\nUnderstand the importance of focusing your audience’s attention on your data and the best ways to accomplish this\nUnderstand the importance of designing presentations and visuals for all audience members – including those who may be colorblind. We will discuss how using some color combinations together\, such as red and green\, in the same chart or graph might be difficult for some folks to interpret. In this presentation\, we will discuss which colors are colorblind-friendly alternatives to make your presentation accessible to a wider audience.\n\nFollowing the rules of data visualization will help you create charts and graphs that are trustworthy\, unambiguous and persuasive. In turn\, they will convey your data in a much more powerful way. \nSpeaker Bio\nAs Vice President of Marketing at AOE\, Ashley helps clients plan and implement communications strategies to reach their target audiences. In addition\, Ashley is responsible for achieving AOE’s objectives related to marketing\, client referral strategy and implementation\, branding\, and team member development regarding client relations.
