SUMMARY:INSPIRE: Become the Leader You Want to Follow
DESCRIPTION:Location: Frisco 9 \nSpeaker: Eric Steele – Chapman & Co. Leadership Institute \nPresentation Description: \nWhat do inspirational leaders do? When we asked leaders around the world\, regardless of generation\, background\, or culture\, they invariably respond with the same list of actions. Inspirational leaders listen\, build trust\, grow people\, and form lasting connections with the people in their span of care. The result of great leadership? Inspired team members who lean in\, are authentically dedicated to helping others\, and deeply\naccountable to their commitments. This is why inspiration is 27% more predictive of performance than engagement. Inspirational leadership training doesn’t begin by learning a new set of skills or behaviors but rather by learning what inspires and motivates you. While each of us has different and distinct values\, identifying them leads to being more intentional in how we think\, act\, communicate\, and make decisions. Leaders who act from a place of self-awareness inspire and motivate others. \nOutcomes:\n• Define individual value sets to increase self-awareness and authenticity\n• Learn leadership skills to build trust and develop high-performing\, resilient teams\n• Develop empathetic listening behaviors that value people and enhance relationships\n• Increase problem-solving capacity with coaching skills\n• Develop recognition and celebration practices to encourage desired behaviors \nSpeaker Bio: \nEric is an experienced coach with over a decade of experience in leadership\, development\, resiliency\, and consulting. He has a bachelor’s degree from Franklin College and Master of Divinity from Indiana Wesleyan University. Eric comes from a military background with the US Air Force and Army. Starting with the Air Force\, Eric served as a Crew Chief on the F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft. He then transitioned to the Army to serve as an Army Chaplain and is currently still serving at the rank of Major. Eric also brings a wealth of experience from the aviation sector\, having served as UH-60 Blackhawk pilot in the Army\, a Medevac Company Platoon Leader\, and holding multiple ratings in fixed and rotor wing aircraft. Although the Blackhawk was the most complex\, his favorite aircraft to pilot and learn in was the OH-58 Kiowa. \nOf his military career Eric shares that “the experience of being a military aviator and chaplain allows me to combine technical analysis and share the human experience with any group I serve. I want everyone that I interact with to know that they are heard.” Eric believes that there is always an opportunity to learn from someone else. He brings a passion and experience to empathetic listening and leadership development. As a result\, he believes that leadership development is something that can be learned and honed. Eric enjoys spending time with his daughters and playing or listening to anything related to blues music.

SUMMARY:Roundtable Safety Discussions
DESCRIPTION:Location: Frisco 9 \nSpeakers: Todd Marciniak – Northern Concrete Pipe\nRobert Strickland – Concrete Pipe & Precast\nJohn Puzz – County Materials \nDescription: \nDiscussions and communication within every part of the manufacturing process are how our companies and our industry thrive. Safety is an important part of every part of the manufacturing process\, and for safety to work\, communication is vital. The ACPA would like to know what safety issues or concerns our members are having\, so that we can work together to find ways to better our plants and our industry. When needed the course instructors will ask a series of open-ended questions that relate to known issues some of members are experiencing. Just like a safety process\, this is an interactive course. If you have a question\, please share. Together we will find a way to make it work. \nSpeaker Bios: \nTodd Marciniak has 26 years of experience in the concrete product manufacturing industry. Dedication and hard work have driven his advancement through several levels of employment within Northern Concrete Pipe\, Inc. and paved the way for his current role as Safety Director. Todd’s years of experience has provided him with a strong understanding of the different facets of concrete manufacturing operations and has fostered a strong\, safety-conscious mindset with a desire for continued innovation in safety culture. In addition to being a devoted Safety Director for Northern Concrete Pipe\, Todd is also the chair for the ACPA safety committee and works diligently to aid in the continued improvement of safety in his industry. \nTodd’s immediate goals revolve around cultivating a positive safety culture in the workplace. His ideas are centered upon improving employee safety knowledge\, perfecting exceptional safety training\, and promoting teamwork from within. He is determined to build a safety framework that can be maintained and improved upon for years to come. \nOutside of the workplace\, Todd has a variety of outdoor hobbies including hiking\, boating\, kayaking\, mountain biking\, and spending time at the gun range. He also enjoys woodworking\, building with material\, going to the gym\, and watching his kids’ sporting events.

SUMMARY:General Precast Production Facility Safety
DESCRIPTION:Location: Frisco 9 \nSpeakers: Todd Marciniak – Northern Concrete Pipe\nRobert Strickland – Concrete Pipe & Precast \nDescription: \nOpen safety toolbox talks\, and training are often focused on specific or required topics. Yes\, specific training of a task or a process is part of general plant safety. But how often do we talk about all the little parts of the operation that are vitally important in ensuring the safety of our workforce. Ensuring safety is often done by constant reminders to aid in keeping everyone focused. This course is centered around all the little things that may get overlooked but are still very important\, to give reminders that we must always be thinking. \nSpeaker Bios: \nTodd Marciniak has 26 years of experience in the concrete product manufacturing industry.
