DESCRIPTION:Location:  Regency A and B \nSpeaker: Mel Marshall – MCM Consultants \nSpeaker Bio: \nMel graduated in 1960 from University of Alberta with a B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering. Since 1980 he has operated a consulting service to the concrete industry. Mel serves on the American Concrete Pipe Association Technical Committee and is Past Chairman of the Technical Committee for the Ontario Concrete Pipe Association. He also serves on the ACPA Manufacturing/Quality Committee and is presently an Associate Member of both associations. Mel is current chairman of the CSA A257Committee and involved in many other ASTM and CSA committees. For his contributions to our industry\, Mel has been awarded the ASTM Spangler Award for performing outstanding technical work in committee C-13 activities\, and the Award of Merit from both the ASTM and CSA Associations. \n

He offices out of San Antonio\, TX and is over the Quality Departments for 7 Texas plants. He has been in the industry since September1989. Karl started as an Engineering Technician for the Texas Department of Transportation for 15 years and started with Rinker Materials Pipe in February 2005 as Quality Control Manager for the Houston and Rosharon Plants. In 2012 Karl became a Region Quality Manager for Rinker Materials Pipe based in Houston\, TX. and acquired by Oldcastle Infrastructure in April 2022.

He’s been with Northern for eighteen years\, and involved in the quality program for fifteen. Rich is responsible for developing and overseeing Northern’s award winning quality control program\, maintaining various plant and company certifications\, ensuring product compliance to local\, state and national specifications\, personnel training\, and overseeing research projects. Rich holds a degree in Science and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Rich is a current member of ACPA’s Quality\, Education\, and Research Committees.
