Description: Beginning in 2009, Forterra Pipe & Precast facilities began repurposing off-inventory pipe and precast to use as a fish habitat in the form of artificial reef material. Foterra established what has become more than a ten-year link to the artificial reef community. In the past two years alone these reefs of opportunity have gained popularity with cities, counties, and other artificial reef organizations. In the mid-west, central, and east regions, Forterra has repurposed reinforced concrete pipe to create living marine habitats from the Gulf Coast to the Atlantic Ocean.
