- Specs called for more than 90% of the pipeline to be constructed through micro-tunneling to avoid disrupting the densely populated beach community.
- Geneva Pipe and Precast provided 1,710 linear feet of Class V precast concrete jacking pipe and worked with Hamilton Kent on an O-ring joint design that would ensure optimal hydraulic performance and pass a 50 psi pressure requirement.
- The 72″ jacking pipe acts as a casing pipe for the 54″ pressurized force main.
- The final joint design consisted of a confined O-ring gasket combined with a steel bell band, which helps to disperse much of the jacking force around the pipe.
