Description: The benefits of trenchless installation include minimal traffic disruption, reduced air and noise pollution, safety, and utility coordination. There are four general methods of trenchless installation: (1) manually excavating (e.g., box culverts); (2) auger boring; (3) tunnel boring and pipe jacking; and (4) microtunnel auger boring.
