Introduction to Asset Management

February 3, 2022 @ 10:10 am - 11:05 am UTC+0

Location:  Frisco 2

Speaker:  Trygve Hoff, P.E. – American Concrete Pipe Association

Presentation Description
At its heart, Asset Management is a business concept. Used successfully in asset heavy businesses, such as railroads, power companies, and the technology sector, it has provided business leaders with the tools to capitalize on the value of their tangible resources. In the last 30 years the concept has gained popularity in the public sector as well, to the point that the FHWA has required every state DOT to develop their own Asset Management program. In this introduction to asset management, we will look at the basic concepts of valuing tangible resources, explore several of the programs developed by states and cities across the country, and look at why drainage infrastructure should be included in the programs of cities, counties, and states.
