Presentation Description:

Precast Concrete Box Culverts are an important part of the United States Infrastructure. Their main purpose is to convey water under roadways. They are also used as pedestrian tunnels, utility tunnels, wildlife passages, and many other uses. They are buried in the ground and are an important part of the nation’s infrastructure. This presentation will go over how Precast Concrete Box Culverts are designed. We will discuss loads, load factors, and design criteria used as we design a box culvert using AASHTO LRFD Specifications and Eriksson Culvert.
