Speaker Bio:
Mel graduated in 1960 from University of Alberta with a B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering. Since 1980 he has operated a consulting service to the concrete industry. Mel serves on the American Concrete Pipe Association Technical Committee and is Past Chairman of the Technical Committee for the Ontario Concrete Pipe Association. He also serves on the ACPA Manufacturing/Quality Committee and is presently an Associate Member of both associations. Mel is current chairman of the CSA A257Committee and involved in many other ASTM and CSA committees. For his contributions to our industry, Mel has been awarded the ASTM Spangler Award for performing outstanding technical work in committee C-13 activities, and the Award of Merit from both the ASTM and CSA Associations.
