Resilient Design

February 1 @ 9:00 am - 9:55 am CST

Location: Frisco 3, 4, 5

Speaker:  Jeremy Bowers, P.E., S.E. – SG&H

Presentation Description:

Learn about how resilience, sustainability, and recovery can be incorporated into design. The increased occurrence of wildfires and floods in the United States has highlighted the need to develop an approach to design resilient culvert and storm sewer pipe. The serviceability of these systems is critical to maintaining the functionality and safety of roadways. Join Jeremy Bowers as he reviews how this guide provides a framework, including best practices, mitigation measures, design checks, and the importance of planning for recovery, to enhance the resilience of culvert and storm drains exposed to these extreme weather events.
