OSHA’s Focus Four
Presenter: Walt Catlett, PE
Organization: American Concrete Pipe Association
Description: The majority of injuries and fatalities in highway construction are caused by four basic hazards:
• Falls
• Struck-bys
• Caught-in-betweens
• Electrocutions
OSHA calls these the Focus Four, because they account for approximately 90 percent of fatalities and serious injuries in the construction industry.
