Presentation Description:
There are no “Silver Bullets” in the Lone Ranger world of Pipe Material Selection, however, the one specification issue that has been deployed to control the use of flexible pipe has been the inclusion of Post Installation Inspection as an acceptance criteria for some system owners. This class will review the importance of obtaining a good PII and evaluation section in pipe specifications and standards for consultants, Municipal owners, and DOT’s. This presentation will review the history and past sucesses and lessons lerned on the topic of PII and evaluation and walk the students to the who, what, when, and how the PII and evaluation process is best completed. Sample specification wording for PII and Evaluaton will be discussed and provided as well as a review of the current national guidance on evaluation of installed pipe

Speaker Bio:
Al Hogan, P.E. is the Southeast Region Engineer for the American Concrete Pipe Association where he has held the position since 2007. Al has over 35 years of related and industry experience including construction inspection, construction survey layout work, 11 years of General Civil Site Design, and almost 25 years of experience as a Civil Engineer serving the RCP Industry.
Al is a licensed civil engineer in the state of Tennessee. He received his Civil Engineering degree from Tennessee Tech. University.
