With a renewed emphasis on sustainable construction, the industry needs to continue to stay informed on various product transitions to meet goals and specifications. This presentation will cover these topics including sustainable market dynamics and performance aspects of portland-limestone cement (aka. PLC or Type IL).
Speaker Bio
Joseph Clendenen is a Technical Service Engineer for Holcim (US) Inc, the world’s largest cementitious materials supplier, for the Midwest US. He is a former General Manager of Pioneer Testing & Engineering, LLC in St. Paul, MN and a former Technical Service Engineer and Concrete Laboratory Supervisor for Holcim (US) Inc.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla (now Missouri University of Science and Technology). He is a Professional Engineer (MN, WI, and MO) and a LEED Accredited Professional.
He is a member of American Concrete Institute (ACI), serving as a voting member of committees 201-0H Aggregate Reactions and 232 Fly Ash and Bottom Ash in Concrete. He is also a member of the American Society of Testing & Materials (ASTM), including serving as chair of committees C09.27 Slag Cement and C09.47 Self-Consolidating Concrete and a voting member of C09.24 Supplementary Cementitious Materials and C09.50 Aggregate Reactions in Concrete.
